Just kidding, I would never ever hop on bandwagon of that stupid trend. In Finland they got stupid Finglish word for application called Äppi which well you can guess which word its is made from. IT'S NOT ÄPPI IN FINNISH IT'S SOVELLUS. Almost every company advertises you to download their mobile application everywhere including cashier on stores. I dont have problem with phone applications, rather my problem is with 90% of them being useless and serve as shortcut for user who it would be too impossible to just create shortcut to website

Back in day most of phone applications, for example to Nokia 6600 or other S60 phones were productivity applications like SSH/Telnet, IRC/XMPP or email clients or text editors. There was also media players available for entertainment. Sure there was games even back then but I have no problem with them. I am also aware application I listed are also available on new phones, but how many people actually use them. 99% of Android/IOS users use Whatscrap, Fakebook, Twatter and misc set of "Apps" from different companies
 
 

This occured to me some time ago, I was waiting parcel from delivery company when I recieved parcel pickup message. Usually there is code either on email or as short message into handportable with pickup code I show at pickup point enter on parcel machine, but this time my parcel had been delivered into parcel machine outside which required delivery company app to be used. Well I though can message about it to delivery company on their website, then I noticed this:

In order to get my parcel only way without downloading their application was to call their paid supportline, before you could send message from their site, now could only talk with "Chat Bot". I do understand that if someone has no internet and calls on customer service they charge for it since they need pay salaries of telephone support personnel but WHY IT'S NO LONGER ENOUGH TO HAVE FULLY WORKING COMPUTER, RATHER NEED HAVE STUPID SMARTPHONE APP IN ORDER TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have asked the same thing many times, but in this case all I wanted was to get parcel out of machine and I had no intention buy new expensive phone just for that.

I got computer with internet browser, I got email, I got phone number and my Nokia 6510 can recieve short messages, why this is no longer enough? Even some banks require you to use their mobile app and some services require authentication with phone before they let you log in, usually with excuse that smartphone is safer than computer. SMARTPHONE IS AWFUL FOR SECURITY. First of all its something most carry with them all the time, if its lost device unlock code can be bypassed and then hacker can obtain all data on device. And even if device got remote wipe on, it can be easily prevented if thief placed device into signal blocking bag which you can build with foil. On the other hand computer which is almost always inside house is less likely fall into wrong hands since to get it you need break in to someone house and usually on computer you not logged in to everywhere all the time. And no matter how much manufactures claim, hacking mobile device is possible. As long as device can run code and it is connected to outside world it can be hacked remotely. Pegasus for example even though its used by intelligent agencies is good example how mobile device is vurneable. 
 
 

I have heard that countless times when someone has asked me to have Whatsapp call and I have said that I can call them normal phone call or if they want do it over network can use Teamspeak or Mumble and too often reaction been anger or frustration. Same is someone wants send me picture or document and I ask it to be sent on phone instead of email. 

Is it really so absurd though to use different methods or has society just made everyone think that way. And just because I got old handportable and use Windows 98 does not mean I pretend to like from old to be different. Reason for that is since most of modern technology tries to spy or contral their users in every single way possible. Along with Windows 98 I also use Devuan Linux (Chimaera) which is "modern". I use since I think Windows 10 and 11 are horrible operating systems because of all advertisement and other crap and somehow I feel like I am only who finds anything negative about those features. This is not pretending for attention, this is my real opinion and if I ever state otherwise it's not what I really think, unfortunately professional cant state their real opinion since it would be unprofessional. 

If you managed read this far without quitting since article went straight into feelings, I hope I made some questions for you to think, do you really want world where all is tied to single device and those who don't want it for reason or other are locked out from everything?
